For a limited number of birds each season a colour ring has been added to enable individual birds to be identified by field sightings.
During the breeding season of 2008 and the spring of 2009
birds are being bto ringed on the left leg and individually colour coding.
This will greatly help efforts to collect data on the number of nesting attempts made in a season, as part of the monitoring for the RSPB/NE Twite Recovery Project. So there will be a mass of different colours for each bird.
