Kex Gill Quarry and Plantation
This is a private site
Kex Gill is on the site of a disused silica quarry, with scrapes and ponds. It's position high above the valleys makes it an excellent watchpoint for migrants. Many interesting waders and ducks have been recorded here and in 1997 Glossy Ibis were seen flying overhead.
This is a General Mist Netting site, and a Woosh net site has been set up with the hope of catching Twite and Linnets.
Ringing on this site takes place on the silt ponds and in the small plantation across the road.
